“I was born and raised in a suburb of Piraeus in a detached house full of plants and animals. This has always been my precious microworld where I explored the circle of life and realized the concept of co-existence with the natural network of life, with respect and empathy. It was the canvas of the development of my creativity and imagination and the field of expression of my emotions. When I decided to study Psychology, I looked for this reference of Nature in the development of the human personality as I believed that it was not only me that had this experience with the wider web. I found myself unsatisfied with the limited references made by classical psychology and in my further search, a friend pointed me an article and said… “this is for you”…. I was delighted to find that in the same year, in 2005, there was an Ecopsychology Gathering in Valley d’Aosta, in Italy, and I decided to meet other colleagues with similar quests, in person. My participation there resulted in starting a lifelong relationship with Ecopsychology.
I studied Psychology with Clinical Psychology at the University of Kent at Canterbury, U.K and continued my studies in Master of Science in Mental Health at the University of London (King’s College) where I majored in Dynamic and Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy. In Greece I completed studies in STAPP (Short-Term Anxiety Provoking Psychotherapy) with Dr. Petros Sifnaios, professor at the Medical School of Harvard, while trained also in family counseling, child and adolescent mental health, learning disabilities and psychometric tools.
In 2009 I got my Diploma in Ecopsychology from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. I studied Dolphin Assisted Therapy for children and adults with psychological, neurological and mobility problems at the Dolphinswim Institute in Austria, in collaboration with the Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, and I am an official partner and therapist in Greece of the Alpha Therapie Academy based in Austria and Turkey. From 2021 I specialized in Trauma Therapy from the Institute for Coping with Trauma (ICT) in Germany. I am a certified Adult Educator from EOPPEP (National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance ) and responsible for the IES Training in Ecotuning (Applied Ecopsychology) Educational Program in Greece (IES School) provided by the Hellenic Society of Ecopsychology.
I have worked in the Adult Psychotherapies department at Guy’s Hospital in London, while since 2002 I have been working as a freelancer in Greece. I have taken part as a lecturer in a number of international and national conferences,. Moreover, I write articles in magazines and the daily press and I have been participated in the television media as an invited expert.
I am a Member, former President (2016-2019) and current Board Member of the International Society of Ecopsychology (IES) and officially recognized as the representative of IES in Greece with the establishment of the “Hellenic Society of Ecopsychology”.
